Dorado,
is a small touristic town in the northern coast of
Puerto Rico, east of
San Juan,
Cataño, and
Bayamón.
Dorado has long been known as a
golf haven. It's touristic industry
includes the Dorado Beach Resort and the El Cerromar Hotel, as
well as
Dorado Airport, a small airport that
used to be served by Dorado Wings. In addition, there are many
upscale neighborhoods and a small downtown with stores.
President
Gerald Ford once stayed in Dorado
during his presidency, for a
1976 meeting with other heads of state
from the
Caribbean.
Dorado has been voted Puerto Rico's
cleanest town various times.
